This endeavor took over 7 months from concept to realization. NKdsgn worked intimately with Poetic Kinetics to create this massive festival roaming astronaut. We helped create the imagery that ultimately won the proposal from Goldenvoice for the project. We saw through the budgeting and estimate phase of the project and created all of the construction documents required for the build. The Astronaut was built atop a JLG G12 55A Telehandler forklift. NKdsgn was a contributor of the content displayed on the Astronaut's night time projection mapped visor, which was orchestrated by Pearl Media Productions. This project required an immense amount of precision engineering, masterful stage rigging and an intense amount of animatronics; it is the cumulative result of the Artist Collective spirit that is Poetic Kinetics.
AKA the Coachella Astronaut. The Astronaut now lives permanently in the Minnesota Science Museum. Responsible for schematic design, visualization and construction documentation.
